Staff Bios

Dr. Richard Ziarkowski, D.C.

Dr. Z is a 1998 graduate from the New York Chiropractic College, where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic. He specializes in treatment of spinal disc injuries. Dr. Z utilizes low force adjusting techniques, postural correction techniques, full spine and full body strengthening programs, as well as nutritional consults.

Dr. Alana Flitt, D.C.

Dr. Alana received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology in 2009 from SUNY Fredonia and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2013 from D’Youville College.

She is certified in Graston® technique, a soft tissue repair and mobilization technique. Graston® technique is an innovative form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization that is used to break down scar tissue or fascial and muscle restrictions. The technique uses stainless steel tools specifically designed to effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or damage, and chronic inflammation. Graston® technique can be used to treat sprain/strain injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis or golfers elbow, rotator cuff injuries, scar tissue, shin splints, runner’s knee, and fibromyalgia, as well as other soft tissue injuries and conditions.

Dr. Alana also has a special interest in treating pediatric patients. She strongly believes that chiropractic treatment of children, in addition to helping to reduce pain, can help promote wellness, reducing illness and encouraging optimal health, putting a child on the right path for health and wellness into adulthood. She regularly adjusts her infant son.

 

Theresa M. Weiskerger, LMT

Theresa is a licensed massage therapist. She obtained her degree and licensure from the New York Institute of Massage in 2003. Theresa practices Swedish, Deep tissue, Hot stone, Sports and Medical massage techniques.

Karen Caligiuri, LMT, RYT

In 1997, Karen Caligiuri, LMT, received her Associates Degree in Science from Erie Community College.  She then continued on and graduated from the New York Institute of Massage and became a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist in 2001. In addition to being a Licensed Massage Therapist she received Certification in Reiki (second degree) and her first Yoga Teacher Training Certification.  Since then,  she has continued on with her Yoga trainings.  She currently teaches a Vinyasa Flow class.

Jeremy Sajdak, CA

Jeremy is a chiropractic/ medical assistant. He has been employed with Universal Chiropractic since 2011. He is a current student at D’Youville College in the Physical Therapy Doctorate Program (DPT). He also attains a BS in Health Service Management (2010) and a Masters certificate in Health Service Administration (2012), both from D’Youville College. When not in class or work, Jeremy is active in the community with athletics. He played volleyball and baseball at D’Youville College for 4 years, and currently coaches volleyball at the high school and collegiate levels.

Lauren Fial, CA

Lauren is a chiropractic/medical assistant. She has been employed with Universal Chiropractic since September 2012. Lauren is a college graduate from the State University of New York at Fredonia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Business Administration. While there, she completed performance research work with college level athletes. Lauren plans to continue her education with a Master’s Degree and licensure as a Physician Assistant. Lauren was also a club swimmer at the competitive level for twelve years. She is currently a CrossFit athlete and is training to compete in triathlons.

Judi Winzenried,
Office Secretary

Judi is the office secretary. She has been employed with Universal Chiropractic since 2010. Judi is a mother of three and she enjoys reading.
